Cyprus weather forecast: Hot conditions and seasonal winds expected until Saturday
Cyprus remains under the influence of seasonal low pressure, keeping temperatures slightly above average. For today, inland temperatures will reach 37°C, while coastal areas will see 29°C to 33°C, and the higher mountains will reach 27°C. Winds will initially be light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, increasing to 4 to 5 Beaufort in coastal areas during the afternoon. The sea is expected to be slightly rough. Tonight, temperatures will drop to 23°C inland and on the coast, and 17°C in the mountains, with a possibility of mist or fog during early morning hours. Conditions for Thursday through Saturday are expected to remain mostly clear with potential isolated showers in the mountains during the afternoon. Meteorologist Andreas Chrysanthou noted that while Western Europe is experiencing a heatwave, Cyprus remains largely unaffected, with local temperatures staying close to seasonal norms. A brief, non-extreme temperature rise is expected for Sunday and Monday.
