Seasonal low pressure and instability forecast for Cyprus
Cyprus is currently under the influence of seasonal low pressure and atmospheric instability. Weather reports indicate that after morning fog and low clouds dissipate, the sky will become mainly clear. However, by midday and early afternoon, developing clouds are expected to bring local rains and isolated thunderstorms, primarily in mountainous regions, the interior, and northern areas. Hail is possible during thunderstorm activity. Temperatures are forecast to reach 35 to 36 degrees Celsius in the interior, 30 to 34 degrees along the coast, and 23 to 26 degrees in the higher mountains. Nighttime temperatures will drop to approximately 21 to 23 degrees inland and on the coast, and 14 to 17 degrees in the mountains. Winds will generally blow from a southwesterly to northwesterly direction, reaching 3 to 4 Beaufort, with potential gusts up to 5 or 6 Beaufort in some areas. This pattern of afternoon instability and seasonal temperatures is expected to continue through Thursday.
