Unstable weather conditions and yellow warning issued for Cyprus
The Cyprus Meteorological Service has issued a yellow weather warning in effect from 11:00 to 18:00 on June 13, 2026. The island is currently influenced by weak low pressure and unstable air masses, leading to localized rain and isolated thunderstorms in mountainous areas, the interior, and parts of the southeast. Hail is expected during these storm events. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 33-34°C inland, 27-28°C on the west coast, 30°C on other coasts, and 24-25°C in the higher mountains. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, reaching force 4-5 Beaufort along the coast in the afternoon. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 17°C inland, 19°C on the coast, and 12°C in the mountains, with potential for light fog. Weather conditions are expected to improve and become mainly clear by Tuesday.
