Unstable weather conditions expected over the holiday weekend
The Department of Meteorology reports that a weak low-pressure system and an unstable air mass continue to affect the region. While weather remains mostly clear in many areas, cloud development during the afternoons is expected to cause isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly in mountainous regions and inland. Today, temperatures are forecast to reach 31°C inland, 28°C on some coasts, 26°C on other coasts, and 22°C in the higher mountains. Tonight, low clouds and local mist or fog may form, especially in the southeast and western parts of the island. Temperatures will drop to 15°C inland, 17°C along the coasts, and 11°C in the mountains. Similar weather patterns, including afternoon rainfall, are anticipated for Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday, conditions are expected to improve to become mostly clear with a slight rise in temperatures toward seasonal averages. Winds will generally range from 3 to 4 Beaufort throughout the period.
