Weather forecast for Cyprus: seasonal instability expected
Cyprus is currently under the influence of seasonal low pressure, according to the Department of Meteorology. Meteorologist Andreas Chrysanthou stated that summer storms in the region are common phenomena and not necessarily linked to climate change, with typical weather patterns expected to persist until mid-July. Forecasts for Saturday indicate increased clouds, particularly in mountainous and inland areas, with isolated rain or thunderstorms possible during the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius inland, while coastal areas will see 27 to 30 degrees Celsius and mountain regions roughly 14 to 24 degrees Celsius. Nighttime conditions will likely include patchy fog in some areas. Looking ahead to Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, the weather will continue to feature local cloudiness with sporadic rain or storms, mostly in the mountains. Temperatures are projected to rise gradually through Monday. Authorities have also warned that the risk of forest fires remains very high across all forested areas.
