Police conduct nationwide security operations in Cyprus
Cypriot police conducted intensified overnight patrols across urban areas to maintain public order and prevent criminal activity. A total of eleven individuals were arrested for various offenses, including assault, theft, property damage, illegal residency, driving under the influence, and outstanding court fines. During these operations, officers stopped 406 vehicles and checked 521 individuals. Authorities inspected 30 premises, resulting in two citations. Traffic enforcement measures led to 194 citations, including 94 for speeding. Additionally, officers recorded three cases of driving under the influence of alcohol and five cases of driving under the influence of drugs following positive preliminary tests. Three vehicles were impounded as part of the ongoing investigations, and police confirmed that these preventive operations will continue daily.
