Apollon Limassol strengthens squad with Konomis and Balogiannis
Apollon Limassol has officially announced the signing of Cypriot defender Leonidas Konomis from Olympiakos Nicosia. The 25-year-old player signed a contract until May 2028 with an option for an additional year after the club activated his release clause. Konomis, who recorded 57 appearances and seven goals for his former team, was also featured in the presentation of the club's new Adidas kit for the 2026-27 season. Additionally, the club reached an agreement with the 27-year-old Greek left-back Konstantinos Balogiannis, who joins from Botev Plovdiv on a contract running until May 2028, pending medical clearance. Balogiannis, a former youth player for PAOK and Arsenal, recorded 106 appearances during his time in Bulgaria. These transfers follow the departure of other defensive players such as Vouros, Adoni, and Lam. The moves aim to strengthen the team's defensive line under coach Hernan Losada as they prepare for the upcoming UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.
