Pedro Marques departs Apollon Limassol
Apollon Limassol officially announced the departure of Portuguese forward Pedro Marques on June 1, 2026, following the conclusion of his contract. Negotiations for a contract renewal between the club and the 28-year-old player were unsuccessful due to unresolved financial differences. During his three-year tenure at the Limassol club, Marques recorded 35 goals in 85 appearances across all competitions and served as one of the team's captains during the recently concluded season. Following the announcement, the player is now a free agent and is reportedly being considered by several other Cypriot teams for the upcoming transfer window. Separately, Apollon's head coach, Hernan Losada, published a review of his first season at the helm, highlighting the team's return to European competition despite falling short in the Cyprus Cup final. The club management also confirmed that, alongside Marques, player Thomas Lam has also concluded his cooperation with the team.
