Continued military escalation between Israel, Hezbollah, and in the Gaza Strip
On June 7, 2026, Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut and hit approximately 150 targets in southern Lebanon over a 48-hour period. Concurrently, an Israeli strike on a Lebanese military vehicle between Khardali and Nabatieh killed several Lebanese soldiers, including an officer, which the Lebanese army condemned as a violation of sovereignty. Israel stated it targeted the vehicle because it was moving suspiciously toward its forces. Separately, an airstrike in Saxakiya resulted in the deaths of two women and 22 injuries. In the Gaza Strip, Israeli operations continued despite a ceasefire, with drone strikes on the Jawazat displacement camp killing at least eight people, including three women. A 25-year-old man, Muhannad Othman Farwana, was also killed in a separate strike in Khan Yunis. Israel maintains these operations target militants, while humanitarian and local sources report civilian casualties and warn of a collapse in ceasefire efforts.
