Traffic accidents and vehicle fires reported during the Easter holiday

During the Easter period, several incidents occurred across Cyprus. On Sunday at 2:00 a.m., a 23-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle on the Limassol-Paphos highway near the Konia roundabout, crashing into barriers and falling into a 5-meter ravine. She was extricated by the fire service and remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Paphos General Hospital. On Holy Saturday, two vehicles collided on the Nicosia-Troodos road near Tembria at 14:30, injuring a 54-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman; both are hospitalized but out of danger. On the same day, an elderly couple escaped uninjured when their moving car caught fire between Agia Varvara and Kampos tis Tsakistras due to an electrical failure. Additionally, a driver lost control of her vehicle on the Larnaca-Nicosia highway on Easter Monday, but sustained only minor injuries. Finally, a vehicle caught fire in Limassol on Sunday afternoon, which was extinguished by the owner and the fire department.
