Five-year-old child suffers finger amputation at kindergarten in Evosmos

On Thursday, April 30, a five-year-old boy suffered the amputation of the first phalanx of his index finger at the 14th Kindergarten in Evosmos, Thessaloniki. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the school's main entrance while children were playing. Reports indicate the injury happened when a classmate closed a door on the child's hand. Emergency services (EKAB) were notified immediately, and the boy was transported to Papageorgiou Hospital. Surgeons performed a procedure to repair the injury, and the child was discharged on Friday morning. The prosecutor has intervened and requested a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and any potential liabilities.
