APOEL Nicosia explores potential investor entry to address financial debt
APOEL Nicosia is currently evaluating several proposals from potential investors to address the club's significant financial challenges. According to club spokesperson Nektarios Petevinos, three different investor cases are currently under consideration. A prominent Cypriot businessman, who leads an investment fund with operations in Cyprus and Greece, has expressed interest in acquiring a majority stake of at least 80% to ensure administrative control. The candidate has no prior experience in sports management but is a known supporter of the team. Current shareholders, including former president Prodromos Petridis, have indicated a willingness to negotiate under these terms. The club is currently in a delicate financial situation with ongoing debts and is seeking a strategic partner to stabilize operations. No final agreement has been reached, and the Advisory Committee retains the primary role in these discussions. The club's management emphasizes that the search for an investor is vital for the sustainability of the team.
