Two arrests following incident where man was carried on vehicle hood in Larnaca
On May 6, a 65-year-old British man was involved in a road collision between the Rizoelia and Kalo Chorio roundabouts in Larnaca. When he approached the second vehicle to exchange insurance details, a police patrol arrived. The driver of the second vehicle suddenly accelerated to flee, causing the 65-year-old to end up on the hood of the car. The victim was carried for over two kilometers along the Larnaca-Airport motorway before falling onto the road, sustaining minor injuries including bruises and abrasions. Police later arrested a 29-year-old Greek national who rented the vehicle and a 24-year-old man. The suspects provided conflicting accounts regarding who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. Both individuals remain in custody as authorities work to determine the identity of the driver through identification parades and witness testimonies.
