Ministry of Education awards grants to two students studying arts abroad

The Cypriot Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth has announced the recipients of government grants for the 2025–2026 school year. A one-off payment of €10,000 was awarded to Anna Avramidou and Maria Pissaride, both of whom are minors under 18 studying at recognized arts secondary schools in the United Kingdom. These grants are intended to support talented youth and promote contemporary Cypriot art. Out of eight total applications submitted, six did not meet the established eligibility criteria. Anna Avramidou, a piano student at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, has performed with several orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra and the Thessaloniki State Orchestra. Maria Pissaride is enrolled at the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and is active in dance, theatre, and music, including representing Cyprus at Junior Eurovision 2024. The Ministry confirmed it will launch a new application call for the following school year.
