Hermes Airports celebrates 20 years of concession in Cyprus

Hermes Airports marks two decades since the signing of the concession agreement for Larnaca and Paphos international airports. This project represented the first and largest Public-Private Partnership in Cyprus, with an initial investment exceeding 640 million euros. In 2013, the project received the Best Transport Project in Europe award from World Finance. Passenger traffic at the two airports grew from 6.7 million in 2006 to 13.7 million in 2025. Tourism now accounts for 14% of the country's GDP, which the operator attributes to improved connectivity across Europe and the Middle East. A second phase of development for both airports is currently underway with an additional investment of 170 million euros funded entirely by Hermes Airports.
