Recent polls project shift in Cypriot parliamentary composition

Recent polls conducted by IMR and RealPolls ahead of the May 24 parliamentary elections show varying projections for major political parties. The IMR poll gives Disy 20.9% and Akel 19%, while the RealPolls survey estimates them at 19.7% and 17.5% respectively. Elam is consistently third, with projections ranging from 12.5% to 14%. New political entities, including Odysseas Michaelides’ Alma and Fidias Panayiotou’s Direct Democracy Cyprus, are polling strongly, with figures ranging between 6.7% and 9.6%. Diko, a long-standing parliamentary fixture, faces potential record lows of 7.6% to 7.8%. Other parties like Volt are polling between 4% and 7.2%. The status of Edek and Dipa remains uncertain, with reports conflicting on whether they will meet the 3.6% threshold for parliamentary representation. These polls indicate significant voter shifts away from traditional centrist parties toward newer political formations.
