Upcoming guided tours of Cyprus villages and wineries

Two guided tours are scheduled to take place on Sundays in September and October. The first excursion on September 18 at 10:00 will visit the traditional villages of Kato Drys, Lefkara, Lazanias, and Fikardou, featuring a honey museum, a local preserve factory, and ethnic ethnographic sites. This trip also includes a lunch at a family tavern named 'Maria's' and a visit to the medieval museum village of Fikardou, protected by Europa Nostra. The second excursion on October 2 at 10:00 focuses on the Krasochoria region near the Troodos mountains, specifically visiting Agia Mavri, Lambouri, Menargos, Zenon, and Gerolemo wineries. Participants will learn about wine production, sample grape-based products like palouzes and soutzouko, and visit the villages of Kilani, Monagri, and Omodos. Both tours provide opportunities to purchase local products and offer insights into Cypriot heritage, including traditional architectural sites and winemaking methods. Organizers state that the second tour will include a demonstration of ancient winemaking techniques using a traditional wooden press.
