Man injured by manual tiller in Limassol district

On Monday, May 11, at approximately 10:55 am, a man was injured while working in an orchard in the Makrinari area of Kapileio, Limassol. His leg became trapped in a manual tiller, prompting an emergency response from the Fire Service. Rescue teams from the Agios Ioannis Lochias Vasilis Krokos and Moniatis fire stations were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters successfully freed the man by removing parts of the machine's rotary blades. Following the rescue, he was handed over to ambulance services and transported to the Limassol General Hospital for medical treatment. Additionally, local authorities reported a separate incident during the same 24-hour period involving a fire in a large pile of rubbish, which was caused by short-circuiting battery packs.
