Elian Sosa departs Anorthosis and returns to AEK Athens
The 22-year-old Argentine midfielder Elian Sosa has officially departed from Anorthosis Famagusta, following the conclusion of his loan spell. Sosa, who is under contract with AEK Athens, has already bid farewell to his teammates. During his time at Anorthosis, he recorded either 25 or 26 appearances and scored one goal, with no assists credited. Sources note that he played approximately 1,379 minutes across these matches. Despite high initial expectations, his performance did not meet club requirements, leading to his marginalization by coach Mauro Camoranesi in recent months. Notably, he recorded only one five-minute appearance in the six matches following March 21. Although Anorthosis faces a transfer ban, the club did not attempt to retain the player, who was among the highest-paid members of the roster. His loan agreement expires at the end of the current season.
