President Trump and President Xi discuss Taiwan and trade during Beijing summit

U.S. President Donald Trump visited Beijing from May 13 to May 15 to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, aiming to stabilize economic relations. The summit included a delegation of 16 prominent American business leaders, such as Elon Musk and Tim Cook, to explore potential trade deals. During the meetings, President Xi emphasized that Taiwan is the most critical issue in bilateral relations, warning of potential conflict if handled incorrectly. President Trump stated that he made no formal commitments regarding Taiwan but reiterated that the U.S. does not seek military confrontation.
