Installation of smart water meters in Limassol nearing completion

The Limassol District Self-Government Organization (EOA) announced that 78,800 out of a planned 80,000 smart water meters have been installed. The project, titled Limassol Smart Water Network – Living Lab, is nearing completion with an expected finish date by the end of June 2026. Current efforts are focused on addressing specific areas and individual cases where technical difficulties or restricted access previously prevented installation. Challenges such as closed premises or the need for onsite relocation of meters have hindered the initial mass rollout. Residents with limited access to their current water meters are requested to contact the EOA to schedule a replacement. The project is funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Plan for Cyprus. The initiative aims to modernize local water infrastructure through digital monitoring capabilities.
