Upgrades to water infrastructure in Larnaca and Limassol
The District Self-Government Organization of Larnaca (EOAL) has signed a €337,400 contract with WINGS ICT Solutions to implement a SCADA telemetry system. This project aims to modernize water infrastructure, including reservoirs, boreholes, and pumps, to improve monitoring and operational efficiency. Meanwhile, the Limassol District Self-Government Organization (EOA Limassol) is nearing the completion of its 'Limassol Smart Water Network – Living Lab' project. By May 12, 2026, 78,800 out of the planned 80,000 smart water meters have been installed. The remaining installations are expected to be finished by the end of June 2026. The Limassol project faces minor delays due to technical difficulties, restricted access to properties, and the need for re-locating specific meters. Residents in Limassol with restricted access to their meters are urged to contact the organization to schedule replacements. The Limassol initiative is funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Plan for Cyprus.
