Famagusta Nautical Club returns to the Famagusta district

The Famagusta Nautical Club has announced its return to the Famagusta district after operating in Limassol for over 50 years. The club was forced to relocate following the 1974 Turkish invasion. The new operational base is located at the Ayia Napa marina, which will host various nautical sports including sailing, canoeing, and kayaking. This transition is facilitated by a partnership between the Ayia Napa marina and Pedalion Yachting. According to Marina CFO Amr El Adawy, the move aims to establish the region as a nautical sports hub in the Eastern Mediterranean. Club president Stelios Charalambous stated that the return to the district represents a significant milestone for the organization. The initiative intends to foster a new generation of athletes while linking nautical activities with regional tourism and development. The move marks the conclusion of five decades of operations based in Limassol.
