Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanoli attends maritime events in Chios and Brussels

Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanoli participated in the 1st Mare Forum Chios on May 7, 2026, where she delivered the keynote address on global shipping challenges and the necessity for collaborative action. During her visit to Chios, she also visited the University of the Aegean for a career day to discuss employment prospects in the maritime sector with students. Subsequently, on May 12, 2026, she attended the conference 'Shaping Policy, Driving Change: Equality and Inclusion in the Maritime Sector' in Brussels, organized under the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. Key attendees at the Brussels event included Belgian Justice Minister Annelies Verlinden, European Parliament Transport Committee Chair Elissavet Vozemberg-Vrionidi, and Cyprus Commissioner for Gender Equality Josie Christodoulou. The conference focused on promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry. Following the main event, the Deputy Minister held a series of meetings with EU officials and international maritime organization heads.
