Preparations for the upcoming legislative elections in Cyprus
The Cypriot Ministry of Interior has scheduled the delivery of ballot boxes to electoral districts for May 22, with overseas voting centers receiving theirs on May 21. Chief Electoral Officer Elikkos Ilias is set to inspect the Nicosia distribution process at the State Fairgrounds at 8:30 AM on May 22. Distribution times for districts are set between 7:30 and 14:30 depending on the location, including Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, and Famagusta. Meanwhile, Deputy Director of the Government Printing Office Charalambos Violaris confirmed that the printing of 614,000 ballots for the May 24 elections will conclude on Thursday. The folding process for these ballots began recently and is scheduled to be finished by Sunday. The final delivery of printed ballots to district administrators is expected by next Tuesday. While some initial reports mentioned printing completion by Wednesday, official statements indicate a Thursday completion timeline.
