Cyprus Shipping Chamber holds annual general meeting

President Nikos Christodoulides addressed the Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, characterizing the sector as currently experiencing its strongest period. He stated that the country aims to bolster European competitiveness while focusing on innovation and sustainability. Despite geopolitical challenges, the president noted that Cyprus has maintained its maritime status and remains committed to the development of renewable energy sources. The Cypriot flag continues to be promoted as a global symbol of quality, stability, and reliability. The government is actively enhancing maritime infrastructure and education to maintain its global position. Furthermore, the administration has pursued diplomatic efforts, including the signing of various Memoranda of Understanding and the launch of the Cyprus-Egypt Joint Shipping Committee. Additional cooperation agreements have been established with countries in the Gulf region. These initiatives are intended to strengthen the strategic position of Cyprus within the European Union.
