Police investigate explosive device incident in Geroskipou

Early Wednesday morning, an explosion occurred at a residence in Geroskipou, Paphos. Residents, including a 67-year-old woman and two men aged 41 and 43, reported hearing a loud noise around 00:30, though some reports incorrectly cited 02:00. Police and bomb disposal experts found a factory-made firecracker attached to a plastic bottle filled with flammable liquid at the scene. While the firecracker detonated, the flammable liquid did not ignite, resulting in no damage to the property or injuries to the occupants. The authorities have seized the items for scientific examination. The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) is currently investigating the incident to determine the motives and circumstances behind the placement of the materials. No suspects have been identified yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
