FIFPRO Europe General Assembly held in Prague

The FIFPRO Europe General Assembly took place in Prague on May 12-13, 2026. The meeting addressed critical issues facing professional football, including the labor rights and working conditions of female players. Discussions focused on the strategic relationship between FIFPRO and FIFA, as well as ongoing legal cases currently before the European Court of Justice. Participants examined interventions addressed to the European Commission regarding labor standards in the sports sector and formulated the long-term strategy for FIFPRO Europe. Spyros Neofytidis, Executive President of the Pancyprian Footballers Association and Vice President of FIFPRO Europe, represented the interests of Cypriot players. The event was attended by representatives from UEFA, the European Club Association (ECA), and the Association of European Leagues to coordinate future industry policies. The assembly emphasized the need for a unified approach to the social dialogue and the legal protection of athletes' rights.
