Cyprus Shipping Chamber holds 37th annual general meeting in Limassol

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) held its 37th annual general meeting in Limassol this past Wednesday. CSC President Andreas Neophytou emphasized the industry's resilience and the need for collective action to navigate geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory pressures, and global competitiveness challenges. The event featured an analysis by Professor Marios Efthymiopoulos, Director of Strategy International, regarding the geopolitical factors affecting global maritime security and the strategic positioning of Cyprus. The meeting was attended by high-level political figures, including the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou. President Christodoulides highlighted the strategic importance of shipping to the national economy and its role in strengthening the country’s standing within the European Union. He underscored that the government remains committed to fostering innovation, sustainability, and European competitiveness within the maritime sector. The assembly served as a platform for industry leaders and government officials to discuss priorities for the sector's continued development in a changing international landscape.
