Cyprus Stock Exchange celebrates 30th anniversary in Nicosia

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) held an event at the Landmark hotel in Nicosia to mark its 30th anniversary. Established in March 1996, the exchange was preceded by informal trading activities supported by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve). The ceremony was attended by President Nikos Christodoulides, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos, and Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou, along with other officials. CSE Chairman Marinos Christodoulides highlighted the institution's history, noting its navigation through the 2013 financial crisis, the pandemic, and the war in Ukraine. Current strategic initiatives include a joint platform with the Athens Stock Exchange and recent cooperation with the Indian stock market. Since October, the CSE has also begun providing settlement and clearing services for the local electricity market. Looking forward, the exchange is focusing on further privatisation, international expansion, and technological modernisation to strengthen the national capital market.
