Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture announces 2026 arts festival funding results

The Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus announced the results of the 'Kypria 2026' grant program in mid-May. A total of €575,328 has been allocated to support 17 arts festivals out of 40 submitted applications. One application was deemed invalid, leaving 39 for evaluation by a five-member committee. While 35 applicants scored above the 70-point threshold required for eligibility, budget constraints limited funding to the top 17 ranked festivals. High-ranking recipients include Fengaros Festival and Pharos International Chamber Music Festival, each receiving €49,500. Other notable recipients include Windcraft Music Fest, the Nicosia International Festival, and Mitsikouri. Despite receiving high scores, several prominent events such as the Nicosia Book Fest, Dance Waves Festival, and Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival did not receive funding due to the limited budget. The selection process involved two categories, with Category A for established festivals and Category B for new events.
