Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture announces grant recipients for 2026 arts and music programs

The Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture has finalized funding allocations for cultural programs under the 'Culture III' framework for 2026-2030. For the 'Kypria 2026' festival program, 17 out of 39 valid applications were awarded a total of €575,328. While 35 applicants met the minimum score threshold of 70 points, budget limitations restricted funding to the top-ranked projects. Additionally, 27 out of 30 applications received €200,670 for the Support Plan for the Preservation of Traditional Culture and Intangible Cultural Heritage. A separate music development program approved 49 applications for a total of €539,061.76, selected from 104 submissions after 19 were deemed invalid. Reports indicate that several highly-rated festivals, including Nicosia Book Fest and Dance Waves Festival, did not receive funding due to budgetary constraints despite meeting performance criteria. All unsuccessful applicants and successful recipients are being notified in writing regarding the evaluation outcomes.
