Trial begins for parents charged with murder of three-month-old infant in London
A trial is underway at the Inner London Crown Court regarding the death of a three-month-old boy named Adam in North Finchley. The defendants, 32-year-old Dounia Sitouat and 44-year-old Abdelkader Ezzit, are accused of murdering the infant. Emergency responders were called to the family's social housing apartment on January 30, where the child was found with severe skull fractures consistent with impact against a hard surface, likely a wall. The infant was transported to Great Ormond Street Hospital with critical brain injuries and passed away several weeks later. Prosecutors presented text messages allegedly sent by Sitouat to her brother expressing frustration with the baby and wishing for his death. Furthermore, it was noted in court that Ezzit had recently returned from Algeria and sent 1,000 pounds to a travel agency while the child was fighting for his life in the hospital. The court proceedings continue as the prosecution outlines the circumstances leading to the infant's fatal injuries.
