Medvedev and Sinner advance to the Rome Masters semifinals

Daniil Medvedev secured a spot in the Rome Masters semifinals after defeating Martin Landaluce in a two-and-a-half-hour match with scores of 1-6, 6-4, 7-5. This marks Medvedev's 18th career Masters 1000 semifinal appearance. He is set to face the world number one, Jannik Sinner, in the next round. Sinner reached the semifinals following a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Andrey Rublev. With this win, Sinner set a record of 32 consecutive victories in ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, surpassing the previous record of 31 held by Novak Djokovic since 2011. The head-to-head record between Sinner and Medvedev currently favors Sinner, 9-7, with the Italian having turned the tide since the 2023 Beijing final. In the other half of the draw, Luciano Darderi is scheduled to play Casper Ruud for a place in the final.
