Smart parking system installation begins in Latsia-Yeri

The installation of smart parking systems commenced on Thursday in the municipality of Latsia-Yeri as part of the 'Smart Cyprus' initiative. The project involves placing smart sensors in municipal car parks to provide real-time updates to drivers. Users will access this information through a mobile application to check for available standard parking spaces, designated spots for disabled individuals, and electric vehicle charging points. Mayor Christos Pittaras stated that the system is designed to provide residents with instant availability data upon its completion. The municipality has warned that installation work may cause temporary traffic or parking disruptions in affected areas. Residents and visitors have been requested to show understanding during the implementation phase of the project. The primary goal of the initiative is to reduce the time spent searching for parking and to improve overall municipal service efficiency.
