Larnaca municipality intensifies mosquito control measures
The Larnaca Municipality launched an additional mosquito control campaign last Monday to supplement existing systematic efforts across the city. Municipal health department crews are focusing their spraying operations on areas with stagnant water, including the airport, Kamarès, Vergina, refineries, Livadia, and Voroklini. Treatment is being applied to storm drains, open channels, and inactive swimming pools to mitigate public health risks. Concurrently, the Ministry of Health is conducting door-to-door inspections to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquito species and provide public information. Authorities are urging residents to eliminate standing water on their private properties to prevent mosquito breeding. These actions follow ongoing regular maintenance routines already in place throughout the municipality.
