New Citizen Service Center opens in Athienou
The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, officially inaugurated a new Citizen Service Center (KE.PO.) in Athienou. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of the Interior, the Director General of the Ministry of Transport, the Acting Director of the Cyprus Post, local municipal officials, and residents. The center is located within the restored municipal market of Athienou, a facility noted for its historical and social significance. This project is part of the government's broader decentralization plan to provide a wide range of public services through a modern 'one-point' service model. By establishing this facility, the government aims to reduce travel time and improve access to public services for residents of the semi-occupied municipality of Athienou and surrounding areas. Minister Vafeadis stated that the goal is to provide citizens with fast, reliable, and modern services near their homes and workplaces. The opening of the facility marks the restoration and functional repurposing of the town's municipal market.
