Cyprus cabinet approves subsidized vacations for low-income pensioners
On May 13, 2026, the Council of Ministers of Cyprus approved a proposal from Minister of Labor and Social Insurance Marinos Mousiouttas regarding subsidized vacations for low-income pensioners. The program covers four-day stays, including three overnight stays with full board, in hotels located in mountain resorts and Pyrgos Tyllirias. The scheme is scheduled to operate from June 5 to July 31, 2026, and from September 1 to October 30, 2026, or until the budget is exhausted. The primary objective is to support low-income seniors while simultaneously aiding rural economies and creating local employment opportunities. The initiative is also intended to strengthen the national tourism sector. Further details regarding eligibility criteria and the application process are expected to be released in the coming days.
