Larnaca municipality announces palm tree pruning schedule for 2026
The Larnaca municipality has announced a city-wide palm tree pruning operation beginning June 15, 2026, as part of its regular urban greenery maintenance. The work is scheduled to proceed in phases across various neighborhoods, concluding on October 8, 2026. Specific areas covered include the Turkish Quarter, Mackenzie, Ayios Lazaros, Faneromeni, Artemis Avenue, Drosia, Kokkines, Tsiakkilero, Agioi Anargyroi, Livadia borders, the Port area, Prodromou, Agios Ioannis, Mitropoli, Chrysopolitissa, Salamina Stadium, Kamares, Vergina, New Hospital, Agios Nikolaos, and the Municipal Market-Dromolaxia. Notably, the tall palm trees along Athinon Avenue, known as Finikoudes, will be pruned over the weekend of July 18-19, 2026. The municipality warns residents of potential temporary inconveniences during these operations. Citizens are urged to cooperate with maintenance crews and adhere to all posted traffic and parking instructions throughout the project period.
