Cyprus government spokesperson comments on Eurovision entry
On Friday, Cypriot Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis publicly addressed the country's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Speaking at the Presidential Palace, Letymbiotis congratulated the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), the organizers, and the performer on the successful qualification of the national entry for the upcoming final. He expressed his support for the concept of European solidarity, humorously linking it to receiving maximum scores. Specifically, the spokesperson stated he hopes the Cypriot entry will receive 'jalla'—an expression of enthusiasm—twelve-point scores from other nations during the final competition. The singer, Antigoni, noted after the qualification that she feels the achievement is already a victory for the delegation. The event continues to be a point of national interest for the Republic of Cyprus.
