Nicosia installs public defibrillators as part of Heart Safe campaign

The Municipality of Nicosia has installed two public defibrillators on Friday as part of the 'Heart Safe Nicosia' initiative. The devices are located on Stasikratous Street and 28th October Street in Engomi. Mayor Charalambos Prountzos stated that placing these units in high-traffic areas is essential for improving survival rates during sudden cardiac arrests. The equipment and access boxes were donated by the Rotary Club of Nicosia Lefkothea and the Spiritus Invictus Foundation. During the installation event, the Ministry of Health's Resuscitation Services conducted a live demonstration on the proper use of the devices. Key contributors recognized include Dimitris Pantazis, Michalis Kyprianou, and Popi Kanari. The municipality noted that this project is intended to enhance public health and emergency preparedness across the city.
