Police unions hold discussions with the Minister of Justice

A delegation from the Equality Police Branch (Klados Astynomias Synthechnias Isotitas) met with the Minister of Justice and Public Order to discuss professional issues, including scoring systems, the danger of police work, on-duty safety, and early retirement. The meeting, which lasted one hour, also covered equipment, regulations, and public holidays. A separate meeting occurred on Friday between the Cyprus Police Association (SAK) and the Minister of Justice to discuss labor rights and service conditions. The Equality Police Branch announced plans to resubmit studies to the Ministry to seek short-term solutions. Meanwhile, the SAK described their meeting as a cooperative exchange held within the framework of institutional dialogue. Both sides, the Ministry and SAK, expressed a mutual commitment to maintaining open communication channels to resolve ongoing operational concerns. The Ministry indicated its willingness to continue working with these organizations to improve conditions for police personnel.
