Trial proceedings for Omonoia police station rape case

Three police officers are currently on trial at the Mixed Jury Court for their roles in the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman at the Omonoia police station in October 2022. During the recent court hearings, both defendants denied the rape charges, claiming instead that the sexual acts were consensual. The third defendant, a superior officer, faces charges of complicity and assistance in the matter. In his testimony, the superior officer denied any knowledge of the event, stating he would have intervened had he been aware of his subordinates' actions.
