Zakaria Sawo to leave AEL for Qarabag

Swedish forward Zakaria Sawo is set to depart from AEL Limassol following the conclusion of his loan spell. Sawo, 26, originally signed with Djurgarden from Aris before joining AEL on loan in late December. During his tenure in Cyprus, he made a strong impression by scoring nine goals and providing one assist in over four months. While AEL expressed interest in acquiring the player on a permanent transfer, reports indicate that Azerbaijani club Qarabag has initiated more advanced negotiations with Djurgarden. The Swedish club is currently in discussions to finalize the transfer, which is expected to be completed within the next week, provided no unexpected issues arise. Qarabag remains the frontrunner to secure the forward's services for the upcoming season.
