Cyprus Times to publish Bayesian analysis for the 2026 parliamentary elections

Cyprus Times is introducing a new probabilistic electoral estimation model for the upcoming 2026 parliamentary elections in Cyprus. The analysis, conducted by strategic communication consultant Yiannis Dimakis, utilizes the Bayesian stochastic model. This methodology aims to provide a more dynamic interpretation of political outcomes compared to traditional linear polling projections. The report is based on data collected from three separate polls conducted by Analytica Market Research between February and May 2026. According to the publication, these elections are characterized by the absence of a clear two-party system, making the race highly competitive. The model continuously updates the probabilities of political outcomes based on incoming data sets. Yiannis Dimakis, the founder of DSC OPUS Strategic Communication Ltd, has over 27 years of experience in political analysis and strategic communication in Greece and Cyprus. The study specifically focuses on the electoral prospects of the first six political parties. This project marks the first time such a model has been applied to election forecasting in the Cypriot media landscape.
