Two people arrested in Paphos for conspiracy to commit murder
On May 16, 2026, police in Paphos received a complaint regarding a conspiracy to commit murder. A 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested following the issuance of judicial warrants. The suspects allegedly exchanged messages and written threats detailing plans to kill the woman's ex-partner. The intended victim reportedly became aware of the plot because he retained access to shared accounts and a phone line previously used by the woman. The 30-year-old man appeared in the Paphos district court, which ordered him to be held for five days, while the 27-year-old woman was ordered to four days of detention. While the male suspect admitted to exchanging messages, he claims he was merely attempting to build a closer relationship with the woman rather than planning a crime. The Paphos CID is continuing its investigation into the charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, conspiracy to murder, and making written death threats.
