Maccabi Tel Aviv passed on Loizos Loizou during the summer transfer window

Cypriot winger Loizos Loizou was proposed to Maccabi Tel Aviv during the last summer transfer window. According to reports from the Israeli website Sport5, the player was evaluated by the club's leadership. Former technical director Dominic Price and head coach Zarko Lazetic decided not to submit an official offer. The management team reportedly had other transfer priorities at the time. Following this decision, Loizou did not join Maccabi Tel Aviv. Instead, he was eventually acquired by their rivals, Hapoel Tel Aviv. During the current season, Loizou has played 30 matches, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists for his new team.
