The Cyprus Theatre Organization (THOC) is preparing a production of Euripides' tragedy 'Ion,' directed by Thomas Moschopoulos. The play explores themes of identity and origin, set at the Oracle of Delphi. It blends elements of tragedy, comedy, myth, and realism. Rehearsals are currently underway, with official production photography provided by Dimitris Loutsiou. The cast features Giannis Tsoumarakis in the titular role of Ion and Stela Fyrogeni as Creusa, alongside actors Neoklis Neokleous and Valentinos Kokkinos. Additional production credits include set and costume design by Vasilis Papatsarouchas, music by Anastasia Dimitriadou, and choreography by Fotis Nikolaou. The play is scheduled to premiere in Cyprus on July 16, 2026. Following the domestic run, the production will be staged at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus on August 28 and 29, 2026, as part of the Athens-Epidaurus Festival.
