Chloraka association demands removal of metallic structures at Paphos harbor

The president of the Cultural-Environmental Association of Chloraka, Andreas Kyriakou, has officially requested the immediate removal of large metallic structures from the historic Paphos harbor. A formal letter was sent to the Acting Mayor of Paphos and members of the Municipal Council, with copies forwarded to the President's Office, the Ministry of Interior, the Deputy Ministry of Culture, the Department of Antiquities, and the Auditor General. The association argues that these bulky structures, situated opposite the Paphos castle, severely alter the area's traditional and historical character. Mr. Kyriakou described the installations as makeshift catering units that block views of historic buildings and restrict public space. The association asserts that the cultural identity of Paphos should not be compromised for commercial gain. They have urged the relevant authorities to take necessary actions to restore the aesthetics of the harbor area.
