Establishment of the Cyprus Marketing Academy
The Cyprus Marketing Academy has officially commenced operations to bridge the gap between academic research and business practice in the local economy. Led by Board President Dr. Daina Nikolaou and Professor Leonidas K. Leonidou, the institution aims to promote strategic, ethical, and socially responsible marketing. The initiative responds to a rapidly changing market landscape influenced by technological advancements and artificial intelligence. Dr. Nikolaou highlighted data from the Human Resource Development Authority, which projects an increased demand for sales and marketing management positions in Cyprus through 2032. Furthermore, the organization noted that trends in registered unemployment for the sector are declining. The academy intends to support this growth through educational initiatives, conferences, and specialized programs. It seeks to foster a new entrepreneurship culture that prioritizes sustainability and competitiveness. Reports indicate that there are currently hundreds of job openings in marketing in Cyprus and nearly 60,000 across the European Union.
